The Key West Symphony Orchestra is the manifest dream of Music Director and Conductor Sebrina María Alfonso. She was joined in her vision by townspeople and city leaders interested in making live symphonic music accessible to the community and its young people both as a performing art and as an educational experience. This is not an easy undertaking by an island community located at the end of a sparsely populated, one hundred and fifty-mile long, rural chain of islands. |

Classical South Florida is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public radio organization dedicated to broadcasting classical music. Its fulltime schedule of classical music includes broadcasts of nationally renowned programs such as Performance Today®, SymphonyCast®, Classical Live, The Metropolitan Opera and Pipedreams®. Classical South Florida began broadcasting in South Florida in October 2007. Its program service can be heard on WKCP 89.7 FM in the upper keys, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and on WPBI 90.7 in the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast. |

The Keys Chorale, under the direction of Dean Walters, was introduced into the curriculum of Florida Keys Community College by Professor Emily Boyd Lowe in January 1990, and now numbers 70-100 singers in full season. It is a true microcosm of the Keys population and represents multifaceted talents, backgrounds and interests. |
